I thought about the iPod and how the sound quality was so good when it was first introduced that it made the user feel as if they were at a live concert, however, I did not think about it placing them in a club. You are exactly right, such a device allows the user to place themselves in all sorts or areas where music is center stage. What is your view on "the cloud?" I personally think that it will replace more than just the iPod. Great post!
I would be interested to see what forms of delivery devices can be utilized by "the cloud"? Smartphones are one replacement currently along with Kindle Fire, the iPad (although the iPod Touch was designed as a predecessor and tester of this device), and other tablet or mobile devices. Whatever the future holds for audio/visual technologies, music will be a part of it.
